FocusEyes collects nothing. It has no analytics, no accounts, no ads, and no servers. The app does not make any network connection. Everything it does happens entirely on your Mac.
Your session tasks and your preferences (such as window opacity, timing settings, and whether site tracking is enabled) are saved locally on your device using the operating system's standard app storage. This information never leaves your Mac and is not accessible to us or anyone else.
FocusEyes includes an optional feature that lets the eyes react when you open a site you've asked it to watch. This feature is disabled by default and only becomes active if you explicitly turn it on and grant macOS Automation permission.
When enabled, the app reads the address (URL) of your active browser tab and the name of your frontmost app, and compares them—on your device, in memory—against the block list you typed in. Specifically:
The app may show links (for example, this Privacy Policy or a Support link). Tapping a link asks macOS to open it in your default web browser. At that point your browser connects to the site—FocusEyes itself still makes no network connection.
FocusEyes does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
